Redwood Heights

“Walk through the Laurel arch and into a bustling neighborhood filled with shopping, events and an annual street festival.”

The Redwood Heights residential neighborhood is centered around several bustling amenities districts, plus well-kept homes with often luxurious lots. Redwood Heights Elementary School and the recreation center serve as the heart of the community. The recreation center also offers an after-school daycare for the school and nearby area. Another feature of the neighborhood is Avenue Terrace Park, also known as Jordan Park, located at Jordan Road and Bennett Place.

This quiet neighborhood is adjacent to the Laurel, Dimond and Montclair retail districts, which pack in every amenity needed for everyday living (and them some!).

Vibrant Montclair Village is one of the prime amenities districts in Oakland. Here you will find a friendly, vibrant community, cradled by the beautiful tree-covered Oakland Hills. The Village has a convivial, small-town feel with big-city services — over 200 retailers, service providers, restaurants, and financial companies have business here.

With its close access to world-class hiking trails and bike routes, Montclair Village is the perfect spot for a sandwich, Pilates class, bike repair, haircut, or massage before or after a day on the trails. The legendary Sunday Farmer’s Market on the main drag is a city-wide draw. Looking for a gift or the quintessential neighborhood bookstore? Need groceries or a caffeine pit-stop? Imported cheeses and wine to take home? You’ll find it all in the Village. The same families have run many of the shops and restaurants for generations. These independent businesses offer unique, hand-picked products that cannot be found in a typical shopping center. The owners take pride in offering traditional customer service, often calling their customers by name.

Montclair is close to many East Bay Regional Parks, Chabot Space & Science Center, and transportation options. Spend the day in the area and drop by the Village to recharge at one of its cafes, restaurants or businesses.

For 23 years, the annual Laurel Street Fair attracts 15,000 people to MacArthur Boulevard to celebrate the immense talent and diverse culture of our Bay Area communities.

Among the MacArthur retail district standouts are Ghost Town Brewery, Degrees Plato Taproom & Bottleshop, Farmer Joe’s Market, Jo’s Modern Thai, The Saint Sandwich Shop, Sequoia Diner, Laurel Ace Hardware, Safeway, Cafe Santana, Crumble & Whisk.

Slightly further down in the Dimond neighborhood, attractions include Bombera , La Farine Bakery, Peets Coffee, another Farmer Joe’s Market, CVS Pharmacy, and several banks and local shops.
